The Home Depot has expanded its presence in Dallas, Texas, with the opening of a new store designed to serve both professional contractors and do-it-yourself customers, as the home-improvement retailer continues its wider U.S. expansion in 2026.
The new Dallas East location, Store No. 6849, is located at 9334 E R L Thornton Freeway and covers approximately 135,000 square feet. The company says the new operation is expected to create more than 100 local jobs, adding employment opportunities alongside expanded access to home-improvement products and services in the area.
The Dallas opening forms part of The Home Depot’s plan to add 12 new stores across the United States during 2026. The expansion comes as demand continues for products and services supporting new residential construction, renovation and the maintenance of aging homes.
The new store has been designed around the changing needs of both DIY customers and professional users. Its features include specialty showrooms, expanded garden-center space, flexible checkout areas, updated merchandising displays and additional storage capacity for online orders collected in-store.
Professional customers will also have access to a full-service tool rental center offering professional-grade equipment, as well as a dedicated Pro team. The location will incorporate technology-driven services, including AI-powered blueprint takeoff capabilities intended to support project planning and material estimation.
The Dallas East store will be led by Jordan, a Home Depot employee whose 13-year career began as a part-time sales associate in Oklahoma. After progressing through department supervisor and assistant store manager positions, Jordan has taken responsibility for the new location, making it the third Home Depot store under his leadership and his first new-store opening.
The company described the opening as an opportunity to establish workplace standards and culture from the beginning, while building a long-term relationship with customers and the surrounding community.
For The Home Depot, the Dallas opening represents another step in expanding its physical retail network while combining traditional home-improvement services with digital tools aimed at today’s homeowners and professional contractors.
